The Blue Marble Tribe – Who We Are

The purpose of this blog entry is to introduce ourselves. We would like to share a little bit about who we are, what we do, and where we’re headed.

The Blue Marble Tribe was founded on a roof terrace in the heart of South-East Asia. A group of online teachers and digital nomads on lock-down during the COVID-19 crisis sitting around a table with a couple of beers asking: “How can we make a difference?”

It was most unsettling seeing our friends and family back home losing their jobs and feeling uncertain about the future. After we had helped a few friends and colleagues make the transition from teaching in the classroom, to online (due to the sudden and prolonged closure of schools), we realised that we had a lifeline for people back home—an opportunity to help others earn money from home and secure their future.

And so, Blue Marble was born.

We wanted Blue Marble Teachers to stand out as being so much more than a teacher recruitment company.

Instead, we are a community. A tribe of like-minded teachers and travellers who want to make the world a better place, through the power of education.

Our shared vision of a world without borders; where equal opportunity is the norm; and culture is revered & celebrated by all; is the driving force behind our growth.

The Relationship With Our Candidates Goes Beyond Placement 

We do not simply place a candidate in a job and then move onto the next one. Instead, we have developed the Blue Marble Mentorship Program which continues that relationship beyond placement.

This program is designed to nurture and support our teachers to ensure that they have everything that they need to hit the ground running and deliver a superior learning experience.

We Support Our Partner Schools Beyond Recruitment

In addition to strengthening our community of teachers, the Blue Marble Mentorship Program is also intended to offer support to our partner schools. We will regularly assess our teachers to ensure that they are performing optimally, are satisfied in their work, and to identify whether or not they need any additional guidance from us.

That being said, we are confident in our partner schools and their ability to provide ample support for our teachers.

The Blue Marble Mentorship Program is optional after placement—though we are happy to implement your strategies and tailor our mentorship to suit your company culture, if you would like to take advantage of our additional support.

Again, we do not want to simply drop a candidate in your lap and then disappear. We take care of our own!

So, whether you’re looking to relocate to Beijing, Koh Samui, or Peru, you’ll find established teachers ready to welcome you into their community.

There’s a long road ahead of us, but we’re grateful that we won’t be walking it alone. The word is out and highly-skilled teachers are gravitating towards our cause because we are so much more than a recruitment company—we’re a tribe.
